Patricia Luna is an Associate Attorney in the law firm of Minsky, McCormick & Hallagan, P.C. Ms. Luna advises U.S. and foreign companies on immigration law issues arising from employer compliance, I-9 training and internal audits, government investigations and E-Verify. Ms. Luna counsels corporate clients in obtaining temporary work status for foreign national employees in a variety of nonimmigrant categories including but not limited to H-1B, TN, "New Office" L, O and P nonimmigrant classifications as well as PERM labor certification and immigrant petitions. She also advises foreign nationals on matters related to maintenance of U.S. legal permanent residency and U.S. citizenship.
Ms. Luna co-authored the article, “How Do Layoffs Affect PERM?” for the ILW.com publication, THE PERM BOOK, 2008-2009 Edition. She is the Co-Chair for the Young Lawyers Section Immigration Committee for the Chicago Bar Association 2010-2011 term. She is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and currently serves on the Chicago AILA Chapter Customs and Border Protection Committee 2009-2010 and 2010-2011 terms. In addition, Ms. Luna is a member of the Federal Bar Association. Ms. Luna received her J.D. from DePaul University College of Law (2001) and a B.A. with a dual major in Political Science and Criminal Justice from Indiana University, Bloomington, Indiana (1994). She is admitted to practice law in the state of Illinois and in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. Ms. Luna is a former congressional intern to Senator Edward M. "Ted" Kennedy. She is fluent in Spanish.
