MMH is proud to participate in the 17th Annual, Race Judicata which was held on July 22, 2010.  Race Judicata is a 5K Run/Walk, benefitting Chicago Volunteer Legal Services (CVLS) Foundation, an organization that provides pro bono civil legal aid to the poor and working poor in the Chicago land area.  Congratulations to all of our MMH staff and attorneys who ran and walked at this year’s Race Judicata!

November 2009

On November 18, 2009, Attorney Beata Leja participated as a panelist for the Loyola University Chicago's School of Law regarding careers in Immigration Law.  more

The 4th Annual, award winning conference, “What You Should Know About Workplace Enforcement and Immigration” was held in Chicago, Illinois on November 9, 2009. 

Workplace Enforcement

This conference was organized by MMH Principal, Peggy McCormick, who is the current FBA Chicago Chapter Treasurer.  This conference presented such cutting-edge immigration topics as: E-Verify, current ICE employer compliance initiatives and Electronic I-9 Systems.  In addition, MMH Associate Attorney, Patricia Luna appeared as a panelist to discuss USCIS’ recent H-1B Nonimmigrant Anti Fraud Program activity.

The Federal Bar Association Seminar, “What You Should Know About Workplace Enforcement and Immigration”  will be held on November 9, 2009 in Chicago, Illinois. more 

September 2009

The Federal Bar Association awarded the Seminar, “What You Should Know About Workplace Enforcement and Immigration” the Chapter Activity Presidential Citation Award at the national Federal Bar Association meeting in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, on September 12, 2009.   This award winning program, organized by Peggy McCormick, has become an annual seminar in Chicago, Illinois, since 2007. 

Congratulations to Peggy McCormick on her initiation as the 2009-2010 term, Treasurer for the Chicago Chapter Board of Directors of the Federal Bar Association. The Chicago Chapter’s Annual Luncheon was held on September 8, 2009 at the Standard Club.

June 2009

Congratulations to Derek Strain on being elected to the Executive Board for the Chicago Chapter, American Immigration Lawyers Association and becoming the Secretary for the organization for the 2009-2010 term. 

Steve Tarnoff was selected as the Co-Chair of the Unlawful Practice of Law/Ethics Committee for the Chicago Chapter, American Immigration Lawyers Association, for the 2009-2010 term.

Patricia Luna was selected as a Committee Member of the Customs and Border Protection Committee for the Chicago Chapter, American Immigration Lawyers Association for the 2009-2010 term.

John Shine was selected as a Committee Member of the District Counsel Committee for the Chicago Chapter, American Immigration Lawyers Association, for the 2009-2010 term.

Beata Leja was selected as a Committee Member for a second term for the IDES Liaison & Department of Labor Issues Committee for the Chicago Chapter, American Immigration Lawyers Association, for the 2009-2010 term.
