Linda Sanchez Ortega joined Minsky, McCormick & Hallagan, P.C. in 2022 as an associate attorney. Linda’s practice focuses on removal defense and family-based immigration, including family-based petitions, adjustment of status, DACA, waivers, and citizenship. Her practice also includes humanitarian-based cases, such as asylum, U-Visas, and VAWA applications. Prior to becoming an associate attorney, she worked for several years as the firm’s EOIR manager, primarily working on removal defense cases before the Chicago Immigration Court.
Linda received a bachelor’s degree in justice studies and political science from Northeastern Illinois University. During law school, Linda participated in her school’s immigration legal clinic and was the recipient of three CALI Excellence for the Future Awards in Legal Writing 3, Trial Advocacy 1, and ADR in the Workplace. Linda also volunteered at the Children’s Legal Center, which is a non-profit organization focused on providing free immigration legal services to immigrant children.
