James Hallagan

Principal

James “Jim” Hallagan has been the principal attorney at Minsky, McCormick & Hallagan, P.C. law firm since 1980, concentrating his practice on family-based immigration cases, naturalization, deportation defense, and appeals. During the late 1980s, he directed the firm’s program to obtain amnesty for its clients under the Immigration Reform and Control Act (IRCA). Jim has a large Hispanic clientele and works extensively with various other ethnic groups. He has successfully represented clients before the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals and the Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR). Jim graduated from Depaul University College of Law and the University of Illinois at Chicago. He is fluent in Spanish.
