USCIS cuts short EAD validity dates for for H-4, L-2, and E-3 EAD renewals as part of “Batch” processing.

USCIS has indicated that it will be adjudicating certain I-765 EAD renewals in ‘batches’ in order to streamline processing of the EAD cards on their end. As a result, the end validity date printed on the EAD cards will be the first of the month for all cases where the applicant’s non-immigrant status ends at any time in that month. For example, if Form I-765 is approved, an H-4 spouse with a validity status until March 15 would receive an EAD valid through March 1. The batch EAD processing will apply to H-4, L-2, and E-3 EAD renewals at this time.

If you receive an EAD card with an end validity date that is for the first of the month, there will be nothing additional for you to do. We will continue to ensure timely renewals of your status and work authorization so that this processing change by USCIS has minimal impact on you case.
