USCIS Announces FY 2014 H-1B Cap Has Been Met; Lottery to be Conducted
The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced this afternoon (Friday, April 5, 2013) that it has received a sufficient number of H-1B petitions to reach the H-1B numerical limitation of 65,000 (commonly known as the “H-1B cap”) for fiscal year (FY) 2014. The USCIS also announced that it has received a sufficient number of petitions to reach the FY 2014 H-1B U.S. master’s degree exemption cap of 20,000. As such, all FY 2014 cap-subject petitions properly filed and received by the USCIS from April 1 to April 5, 2013, will be entered in a computer-generated random selection process (commonly known as the “H-1B lottery”).
