On February 28, 2013, the same Senate bill passed the U.S. House of Representatives with broad bipartisan support, 286 voting in favor and 138 voting against the bill. The House also voted down a restrictive version VAWA before voting on, and approving, the Senate’s version. President Obama has said he will sign this bill into law as soon as possible.
